             abstract = "Gross primary production (GPP) is a key indicator of ecossystem 
                         performance, and helps in many decision-making processes related 
                         to environment. This study uses net primary production (NPP) as an 
                         important indicator of the reservoir ecossystem's productivity to 
                         estimate the impacts nearby of the Serra do Fac{\~a}o Dam (total 
                         area: 218,84 \$km^{2}\$), in Goi{\'a}s State, where the cerrado 
                         is the predominant vegetation. NPP is the balance between GPP and 
                         autotrophic respiration. The region's climate has two distinct 
                         periods, one dry and one rainy. Reservoir is in S{\~a}o Marcos 
                         river basin, the San Marcos River is a major tributary of the 
                         right margin of the Rio Paranaiba. NPP reflects not only the 
                         productivity of a community of vegetation in its natural 
                         environment but also carbon sequestration ability. We use Landsat 
                         TM images to estimate NPP in the dates next to the most important 
                         events of the dam construction. The region classified as no change 
                         in period 2007-2011 has pixel values between + - 1 standard 
                         deviation (NPP), it represents major part of region. The results 
                         demonstrate that total NPP, the present study use light use 
                         efficiency model (LUE), in the around region remains similar from 
                         2007 to 2011, being dependent on the weather conditions.",
